As most recent releases in the long-running football sim franchise, EA Sports FC 27 feels like a negotiation. Instead of being an outright, undeniable upgrade, the football title brings improvement, stagnation, and regression in equal measure. Granted, some of the updates this time around feel fresh, largely thanks to The Grounds mode and its social-focussed experience. And a long-awaited revamp of transfers in Career mode is appreciated, too, even though it arrives much later than it should have.
