Blizzard has teased another new Overwatch Hero after revealing Doctrine just moments ago.
Just as fans of the long-running hero shooter took to social media to celebrate the reveal of Overwatch’s new vampire-themed Support Hero, Blizzard snuck in another surprise with a post on its social media page. What seemed to be an innocent enough post showed off the full new Hero roster for 2026 – but wait, who’s that?
Doctrine has joined Jetpack Cat, Anran, Emre, Dmon, Mizuki, Shion, Domina, and Sierra, but tucked in the far-right side of the group photo is a character no one has ever seen before. It turns out the image included a first look at a yet-to-be-named Omnic with a robotic trench coat, a swanky hat, and what seems to be an umbrella weapon. All we know for now is that he is Hero 55 and he’s another Support, and fans, of course, are losing their minds at the nonchalant reveal.

“NEED THIS MYSTERIOUS SHERLOCK HOLMES OMNIC BADLY,” one fan said.
“I just know his umbrella showers some healing droplets I just can’t prove it,” another fan theorized.
“NOW THAT IS A COOL HERO, OMNIC DETECTIVE WITH AN UMBRELLA WEAPON LETS GOOO,” another added.
Blizzard has previously kept its cards close to its chest when it came to new Overwatch Hero reveals, mostly limiting designs to silhouettes, previously. For this unnamed Omnic and for BlizzCon 2026, it’s made an exception. Many fans have also noted that the design we see here is far different from the one we were originally shown at the Spotlight presentation in February of this year, though it appears his general design has remained intact. It’s a good thing, too, because fans already really like what they see, even if it’s not quite what was expected.

Overwatch was one of a few games to make a big splash at BlizzCon 2026. In addition to Doctrine, who will launch with Season 5 October 6, Dokiwatch is returning, with Blizzard also planning big reworks for Sombra and Roadhog. Game director Aaron Keller has also teased big things in store for the team’s February 2027 spotlight, promising that they are “aiming for peak Overwatch.”
For now, however, we’ll have to wait to see where the Omnic Hero will fall on the roster and how he will shake up the meta. In the meantime, you can check out everything else announced during the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony here.
