6 Improvements the Tata Aeris Gets Over the Tigor

Tata Motors has added a new nameplate to its lineup with the Aeris. It may be a new name, but it is essentially based on the outgoing Tigor compact sedan. It brings comprehensive updates through sheet metal changes, feature additions, and an all-new interior. We’ve listed below all the improvements that the Tata Aeris gets over the Tigor.

1. Front seat ventilation

Tata has equipped the Aeris’ front seats with ventilation functionality. The introduction of this popular feature makes it the segment’s only model to have it. Over the years, seat ventilation has become a preferred choice among consumers, even in entry-level cars, and is quite useful in our harsh weather conditions.

2. Six airbags as standard fitment

Tata has always been known for prioritizing safety in its cars, and it’s no different with the Aeris. It has made six airbags standard across the Aeris lineup, bringing a much-needed improvement to its safety suite, as the Tigor came with dual airbags only.

3. Dashcam recorder function

The Aeris comes with a dashcam, but not like the one you think. It uses its existing surround-view cameras to record the vehicle’s surroundings. Such an arrangement eliminates the need to install a separate dashcam accessory on the Aeris. Considering our unpredictable road and traffic conditions, a dashcam is quite a handy feature to have on board.

4. Leatherette seat upholstery with extended under-thigh cushioning

Seat upholstery changes from fabric on the Tigor to leatherette on the Aeris. Additionally, the front seats come with extended under-thigh support. Tata says this brings enhanced under-thigh cushioning to improve seating comfort and reduce fatigue, especially during long drives.

5. Wireless phone charger

The Aeris’ equipment list has been bolstered by the presence of a wireless phone charger. As the name suggests, the feature brings added convenience, as drivers with compatible smartphones can charge seamlessly on the go without the need for lengthy cables.

6. Connected car tech

With the Aeris, Tata has also introduced connected car technology with over 35 features. These features can be accessed from the ‘iRA’ app via a smartphone. Functionalities like locking or unlocking your car doors, checking fuel levels, enabling valet mode for privacy, geo-fencing, vehicle location tracking, and a lot more can be done through a few taps on your smartphone.
