007 First Light Is Getting Free DLC Later This Week

007 First Light is getting new, free DLC later this week.

IO Interactive has teased the new DLC via a short video on its socials, confirming it will arrive on Thursday, October 2. The DLC will be free, but as of right now, IO is remaining tight-lipped about what it will include. However, based on some prior info, we can likely assume that this is the long-awaited Aston Martin Valhalla update. This content has been teased since launch in the game’s main menu, and it appears it’s finally being added to the game.

This is expected to include a new TacSim mission featuring the Aston Martin Valhalla, which is used near the end of the game as part of a massive set piece. Given the extensive wait, it seems hard to imagine this will be just a short, single TacSim mission. This may add some other items that were revealed as part of a larger roadmap for the game, such as new game+, new gadgets, and other missions and content.

We’ll just have to sit tight and wait to see what exactly is in store, though. 007 First Light is also set to get a new story DLC centered around Bawama, the pirate king warlord played by Lenny Kravitz. There’s no firm release date for that content, though it’s expected to be a premium add-on rather than a free update like what’s coming later this week.

007 First Light’s Nintendo Switch 2 port is also still coming down the pipeline. It was expected to be out by now, but was recently pushed to 2027 to ensure it was as good as it could be for fans. It’s unclear for how long IO Interactive plans to support this game, as it has continued to drop updates for Hitman many years after its release. Even without a steady stream of post-launch content, 007 First Light has been a big hit. The game sold 4 million copies in its first three months, and sequels are expected to follow, though it will likely be a while before they materialize.
