Google will change Gemini model access for free and AI Plus subscribers from October 9. Free users will only have access to Flash-Lite, while AI Plus will retain Flash-Lite and Flash but lose Pro. AI Pro and AI Ultra will continue to offer all three models, with Deep Think also coming to AI Pro. Google is considering Low, Medium and High thinking-effort options for Gemini. Meanwhile, Gemini 4 Argon is being tested through Fairwind before reaching paid API customers and AI Ultra subscribers.
