‘Just own it’: Lineker urges Man City to accept punishment over financial breaches

Gary Lineker has called on Manchester City to take responsibility for their financial misconduct and the resulting penalties. He argues that acceptance of accountability is crucial for restoring the integrity of English football. The independent commission identified City’s use of fraudulent contracts to distort financial realities across several seasons. Lineker noted that reversing titles could negatively impact players and supporters.
