Iran’s IRGC Navy said a supertanker carrying over 2 million barrels of crude oil caught fire after hitting a naval mine while crossing the Strait of Hormuz via an unauthorised route. The incident comes amid rising attacks on shipping and Tehran’s tightening grip on the strategic waterway.
