New Kawasaki KLE650 details
Introduces the next generation of Kawasaki’s 649cc parallel-twin engine
The KLE650 is powered by an updated version of the 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that has featured in numerous models over the years. The improvements include electronic throttle valves and a retuned intake and exhaust system. Kawasaki hasn’t revealed peak output figures for the bike in European markets yet, but the Kawasaki USA website lists it as producing 70hp at 8,600rpm and 64Nm at 7,500rpm.

The engine sits inside a trellis frame inspired by the unit on the KLE500. Suspension comprises a 43mm USD fork with 210mm of travel and a rear Uni-Trak monoshock with adjustable preload and 195mm of travel. Braking hardware includes dual 300mm front discs and a 230mm rear disc. The aluminium spoked wheels measure 21 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear and are shod with Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres. The SE variant gets tubeless tyres.
In terms of styling, the KLE650 looks bulkier and more purposeful than the KLE500, with larger body panels.
Both variants get KTRC traction control and electronic cruise control as standard. The SE adds a bi-directional quickshifter, a TFT display and a USB-C charging port. It also gets handguards, an aluminium bash plate and a larger windscreen as standard.

In the UK, the KLE650 is priced at GBP 7,499 (approximately Rs 9.48 lakh), while the KLE650 SE costs GBP 8,899 (approximately Rs 11.25 lakh). Both are scheduled to go on sale from April 2027. Kawasaki has made no announcement regarding India plans for the model, but it previously stated that the KLE500 is in the pipeline for our market.
