Coinbase, Bithumb and South Korean Financial Firms Report Data Leaks

Coinbase, Bithumb, Mirae Asset Global Investments and Daishin Securities have reported data security incidents involving customer information or internal business systems. Coinbase attributed its incident to third-party analytics provider Amplitude and said customer funds remained safe. Bithumb reported unauthorised access to an internal employee communication application, while Daishin Securities disclosed a breach affecting 38,490 customers. The incidents have prompted reports to relevant authorities and investigations into the affected systems.
