Instagram is introducing stricter disclosure rules for profiles built around AI-generated people. Accounts that do not identify their AI-generated identity could lose access to recommendations, while creators who add the new disclosure will not face a reach penalty. The platform is also replacing its AI creator label with AI-generated profile. Instagram will allow affected creators to restore recommendation eligibility by adding the label or appealing the decision through Account Status. The requirement does not apply to creators who only use AI tools during content creation.
