Community of Madrid, (Madrid’s Regional Government) and the City Council of Leganés have launched an urban planning design contest aimed at obtaining the best planning proposals for the sustainable and innovative development of the new “Puerta de Madrid” district, located adjacent to the north and east of the established Leganés Norte neighbourhood. This urban development will be managed through a consortium in which both public administrations will participate.
The area features the Butarque Stream as its main environmental structuring element, that connects with other natural areas through the Arco Verde and Bosque Metropolitano ecological corridors.
