WhatsApp is testing third-party agent chats on iOS through beta version 26.37.10.70, according to WABetaInfo. The feature allow users to create agents in WhatsApp and connect them to external services using an API key. Users could create up to five agents and chat with them directly in the app. These conversations do not use end-to-end encryption, as Meta handles the messages through its service for agent developers. The feature remains limited to select countries and a small number of users.
