Samsung has introduced fingerprint-based authentication for UPI payments through Samsung Wallet in India. Galaxy users can authorise eligible transactions worth up to Rs. 10,000 without entering their UPI PIN. The company says the on-device authentication can help users avoid exposing their PIN while making payments in public and may reduce failures caused by incorrect PIN entries. Samsung Wallet also supports contactless card payments, bill payments and digital storage, while its Trips feature brings travel bookings and tickets together in a single timeline.
