Everything Coming to Peacock in October

Peacock is going all-in on horror this month. A ton of scary movies are getting added to the service starting on October 1, including major franchises like Scream and Friday the 13th.

Speaking of Friday the 13th, Peacock is also dropping a new original prequel called Crystal Lake on October 15. The highly anticipated series follows Jason’s mother who is still mourning nearly a year after his death.

What’s Worth Watching

The Blade Trilogy – October 1

Although Marvel’s upcoming Blade movie has been tragically cancelled, the original trilogy is still ripe for the watching. After Wesley Snipes’ cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, the films have been harder to find. The trilogy being added to streaming service is worthy of a movie marathon celebration, especially during the spooky season. The second Blade is arguably one of the best vampire movies ever made after all.

The Mummy (1999) – October 1

Although The Mummy isn’t the scariest of movies, it’s still worth a rewatch in October. This is arguably the best Brendan Fraser movies of all time and the franchise is set to get its fourth installment in October 2027. Fraser has been reportedly training for the upcoming movie, which is bringing back many of the original characters that made it such a timeless classic.

Train to Busan – October 1

Train to Busan is a Korean zombie apocalypse movie that does everything right. The story follows a businessman named Seo Seok-woo and his daughter as they travel on a train to Busan that is actively being overrun by vicious zombies. If you don’t mind watching a film with subtitles, we highly recommend checking it out. Train to Busan currently sits on our list of the best zombie movies of all time.

Crystal Lake – October 15

It’s been 17 years since the last Friday the 13th movie was released, so right now feels like the perfect time for a new addition to the franchise. Crystal Lake is a prequel series that focuses on the events before the original 1980 movie that started it all. The story follows Jason’s mother, who is still dealing with the aftermath of her son’s death. The series will offer a fresh look at the events and people that helped make one of the most iconic horror villains of all time.
