Microsoft has confirmed that its latest Surface PCs no longer use the Copilot+ PC name, although the devices continue to meet the category’s hardware requirements and support its features. A cenet report notes that the branding has also become less common among other PC makers. Qualcomm says the underlying hardware threshold remains relevant for NPU-based experiences, while Nvidia has avoided the label for its RTX Spark platform. The branding shift follows security concerns surrounding Recall, which Microsoft delayed after criticism from researchers.
