Samsung has taken the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic off its quarterly security update list, ending official maintenance for the 2021 smartwatches. The August 2026 security patch was the final update for both models. Samsung had previously delivered four Wear OS generations to the series, taking it from Wear OS 3.5 to Wear OS 6. The Galaxy Watch 5 series is now the oldest generation covered by Samsung’s quarterly wearable security programme, while the Galaxy Watch FE continues to receive updates.
