Wardogs Season 2 Release Date Announced, Will Add Weather Including Rain

Wardogs Season 2 has a release date, and the new content update will add weather effects, including rain.

Wardogs Season 2 will arrive on October 15, and although we don’t know much about it yet, we do know that it will add weather to the game. The first teaser showcases heavy rainfall over a battlefield, suggesting players will have to deal with the elements going forward.

Whether this will add any changes to the gameplay, such as making it harder to drive or creating visibility issues, remains to be seen. If handled right, it could really shake up the Wardogs experience, especially if weather comes and goes dynamically rather than being enabled in specific matches.

Season 2 will also feature a progress wipe, resetting everyone’s unlocks and ranks back to square one. The aim is to rebalance the scales at the start of each season of Wardogs, preventing players who grind the game endlessly from dominating forever. In theory, without a wipe, it could devalue the entire in-game economy as players will eventually unlock everything and lose the incentive to do anything beyond killing enemies. However, some fans are understandably annoyed that they will have to re-unlock everything just one month after the game’s early access launch.

Wardogs has become one of the biggest games of the year, selling over two million copies in its first weekend. It’s unclear where the game is at now sales-wise, but it is continuing to be one of the most played games on Steam. We’ll have to wait and see what Season 2 brings, but it seems like developer Bulkhead has no plans to slow down on expanding the game with exciting content.

Wardogs is also coming to consoles, but it won’t be for a while. The team is targeting a 2028 release for the console version of the game, and a big reason for that is so that the team won’t have to crunch. In a recent interview, Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer noted that although there is pressure to make a console version, he doesn’t want to overwork the team.
