WhatsApp is capable of automatically downloading media files for users, including photos, videos, audio files, and documents. However, this feature can cause the storage of you device to fill up quickly if you leave it unchecked. This forces users to individually delete media files from their phones. However, you can also choose to stop WhatsApp from automatically downloading photos and videos from the settings menu.
