This week on Dezeen, architecture studio Foster + Partners and US studio Manica unveiled their design for Generali Stadium in Milan, which will become home to local football clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan.
The stadium will seat 71,500 people and be built alongside the 99-year-old San Siro stadium, which will eventually be torn down. Generali Stadium will be defined by a structural facade composed of elongated X-framed concrete supports.
Architect Norman Foster told Dezeen that the Generali Stadium’s design draws on his “great personal connection with the city”.

Foster also made the news this week with the launch of his first watch, which the architect designed for Spanish watch brand Lebond.
The watch draws on aviation design and was designed to be customised, in line with Foster’s philosophy that a watch is “intensely personal”.
