French banking group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa has confirmed a major security breach involving fraudulent transfers estimated at EUR 118 million. The attackers reportedly accessed the bank through an external service provider’s portal before moving funds to other financial institutions, where some money may have been converted into cryptocurrency. The bank said the transactions involved its own account rather than customer accounts. Some funds have been frozen, while authorities continue investigating the losses and potential recovery.
