Kia Carens Clavis gets new lower-spec automatic variants

The Kia Carens Clavis range has been updated with new turbo-petrol-DCT and diesel-AT variants for the lower-spec trim levels. This makes the MPV’s automatic variants more accessible for buyers on tighter budgets.

Kia adds more affordable automatic variants to Carens Clavis line-up

The Carens Clavis’s one-above-base HTE (O) trim can now be had with the 160hp 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic combo, priced at Rs 14.67 lakh. It’s now the cheapest automatic variant of the Carens Clavis. In addition to the turbo-petrol-DCT, the HTE (O) gets the diesel-AT powertrain, which combines a 116hp 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 6-speed torque converter. The HTE (O) diesel-AT variant costs Rs 15.82 lakh.

Right after the HTE (O) comes the HTE (EX) trim, which is now offered with the turbo-petrol-DCT powertrain as well, priced at Rs 15.22 lakh. To sweeten the pot further, Kia is offering an ‘Automatic Pack’ for these variants, which includes additional features over the manual versions, specifically a smart key with a motion sensor, push-button start/stop, drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), an electronic parking brake, and remote engine start.
